"Shoichi Sakurai's artwork usually centers around abandoned or discarded materials, allowing a different aspect of the object to be celebrated. With this piece, one in a series fabricated in 2012, he took a different direction, using art clay and the palm of his hand, to create his original calligraphy kanji character "Ni" (Two.)"

通常 私の基本的な作風は、人々から不用にされ見放された物たちに新たな命を吹き込むというものですが、それとはまったく異なる手法で、掌にてアート粘土を木板に塗り付けるように書を施した、昨年2012年にシリーズで賛美した作品の中からの出品です。
